Cycle counts let you automate scheduled Stock Takes across your Warehouse, helping you maintain accurate inventory without disrupting daily operations. Instead of counting your entire Warehouse at once, you can set up rules that automatically generate targeted stock takes on a recurring schedule β by location, product range, or both.
This guide covers what Cycle Counts are, how they work, and what you need to get started. You will need the Admin role to access and configure cycle counts in Access Mintsoft.
Note: This feature is currently being beta tested. Check future release notes to see once added to general release.
What are Cycle Counts?
A Cycle Count is a scheduled, repeating stock take that automatically generates based on rules you configure. Rather than a single manual count, Cycle Counts run on a regular cadence β daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly β so your stock accuracy is continuously maintained.
Each Cycle Count rule defines:
How often the stock take is generated (Frequency).
Which warehouse locations to include (Location Range).
Which products to include (Product Range).
Once a rule is active, Access Mintsoft automatically generates Stock Takes according to your configuration. You can then action those counts from the mobile app.
What you need
Before setting up Cycle Counts, make sure you have:
The Admin role in Access Mintsoft.
The Stock Take feature enabled on your account β contact your Access account manager if you are unsure.
Important: You need the Admin role to access all cycle count configuration screens and to perform counts on the mobile app. Users without the Admin role cannot access this feature.
How Cycle Counts work
The Cycle Count process follows three stages:
Configure β set up a cycle count rule via the web interface, defining the frequency, location range, and product range.
Generate β Access Mintsoft automatically generates a Stock Take based on your rule at the scheduled time.
Count β Admin users action the generated stock take using the Access Mintsoft mobile app.
Where to find Cycle Counts
Within Mintsoft.
Go to Stock Take.
Then Select Cycle Counts Config.
