Cycle Count Stock Takes - Configure Product Range Settings

How to define which products are included in a cycle count rule.

Product range settings control which products are included when a Cycle Count generates a Stock Take. You can include all products, filter by category, SKU range, price, or sales velocity, rotate progressively through your product catalogue, or use a pre-defined custom list.

Product range settings are configured when creating or editing a Cycle Count rule. You will need the Admin role to access these settings.

Note: This feature is currently being beta tested. Check future release notes to see once added to general release.

Select a product range type

When creating or editing a Cycle Count rule, select your product range type from the Product Range dropdown. The available options are All, Configurable, Rotating, and Custom List. Selecting a type reveals the relevant sub-fields for that option.

All

Select All to include every product in the generated stock take. There are no additional sub-fields to configure for this option.

Configurable

Select Configurable to filter products using one or more of the available criteria. Configure the following sub-fields:

  • Categories β€” select one or more product categories to filter by. Leave unselected to include all categories.

  • SKUs β€” select the SKU ordering and range. The options are All, A–Z Range, and Z–A Range. SKU From and SKU To are required when a range is selected.

  • Unit Sales Value β€” select All or Price Range. When Price Range is selected, enter a Price From and Price To value to filter products by their unit price.

  • Sales Velocity β€” filter products by how quickly they sell. Select All, Fast Movers, or Slow Movers. For Fast Movers, enter a minimum units value and the number of past days to use as the lookback period. For Slow Movers, enter a maximum units value and the number of past days.

  • Include products with Serial Numbers β€” select All, Only products with serial numbers, or Only products without serial numbers.

Rotating

Select Rotating to progressively cycle through SKUs across successive stock takes. Each generated stock take covers the next set of products in sequence, working through your full product catalogue over time. Configure the following sub-fields:

  • Quantity of SKUs per count β€” select how the number of products per Stock Take is determined. Fixed Number and Full Range Over Time Period are mutually exclusive β€” selecting one clears the other.

    • Fixed Number β€” enter a specific number of SKUs to include in each generated Stock Take. The minimum is 1 and the default is 100.

    • Full range over time period β€” enter the number of months in which you want to complete a full Stock Take of all products. The system automatically calculates how many SKUs to include per cycle. The minimum is 1 month and the default is 12.

  • Starting SKU for initial Cycle Count β€” select the product where the first rotation begins. Subsequent stock takes advance from this point and work through your catalogue in sequence. This field is required.

  • Sort Order β€” select A–Z or Z–A to determine the direction products are traversed.

Important: Fixed number and full range over time period are mutually exclusive. Entering a value in one field will clear the other.

Custom list

Select Custom List to use a pre-defined set of specific products. Configure the following sub-field:

  • Custom product set β€” select the pre-defined product set to use. This field is required.

To setup Custom Lists, please follow This Guide.

Note: Custom product sets must be created before you can select them here.
