Stock Take - 2nd Counts

Written by Alyssa Reynolds
Updated over a week ago

Stock Take 2nd Counts are a feature within the Stock Take model which requires users to preform and additional second count if a discrepancy is found.

This will apply if this toggle is enabled on your Stock Take or Spot Check Configuration - 'Require 2nd Count if Discrepancy Found'.

Note: This feature is currently being beta tested. Check future release notes to see once added to general release.

Important: This feature must be used alongside 'Tote Locations' to ensure that stock in locations is accurate, due to the fact traditional totes leave the item in its original storage location until the point of despatch. Failure to do so would result in additional discrepancies and administration. Please review the Tote Location Type.

Viewing all 2nd Counts

To view a list of all discrepancies requiring 2nd counts, past and present, you can go via the main menu > Stock Take > 2nd Counts. On here you can filter and report on all 2nd Counts, see details of the users who performed them, and more!

Note: Any discrepancies logged via a Stock Take or Spot Check which did not require a 2nd Count will not show on this screen. Full reporting will be added in the near future.

Note: A user who performs the 1st Count (Stock Take or Spot Check) cannot perform the 2nd Count. This must be done by a different user.

Performing 2nd Counts:

  1. Navigate to the Access Mintsoft app.

  2. Then choose Stock Take.

  3. Then select the 2nd Counts tab.

  4. This will show you any outstanding 2nd Counts.

  5. You will then need to Scan or Select the product you need to do the 2nd Count on.

  6. The system will ask you to Scan the product multiple times to verify the quantity in the location.

  7. Once you are happy with the quantity matching the stock in the location, click Confirm.

  8. You can then repeat this for any other products in the location which require a 2nd count.

  9. Once done, select Complete.

Add Unexpected Product

During the 2nd Count if a user finds an unexpected item in the location, this can be added into stock from the 2nd Count page.

  1. Click Add Unexpected Product.

  2. Scan the Product Barcode, or enter the product sku manually.

  3. Confirm the Product.

  4. Scan the Quantity of the product into the location.

  5. Click Confirm.

  6. This is then logged.
