You can manage inventory on cartons and pallets by transferring stock in and out, making adjustments, viewing contents, and moving cartons and pallets between locations. This help guide covers how to manage and transfer inventory for cartons and pallets.

1. Manage inventory on cartons and pallets
You can view what inventory is stored in a carton or pallet, and perform stock actions including transfers and adjustments.
1.1 View inventory in a carton or pallet
To view the contents of a carton or pallet, follow these steps:
Click Cartons & Pallets, then click Overview.
Find the pallet or carton you want to review.
Use the drill-down option to view the contents.
Tip: You'll see all inventory items stored in that carton or pallet, including product details and quantities.
1.2 Access inventory management actions
To manage inventory on a carton or pallet, follow these steps:
Click Cartons & Pallets, then click Overview.
Find the pallet or carton you want to review.
Click Actions, then click Manage Inventory.
Select the stock action you need:
Transfer stock into this carton/pallet - Add stock from a picking location into the selected carton or pallet.
Transfer stock out of this carton/pallet - Move stock from a selected carton or pallet to a picking location or another carton or pallet.
Adjustment - Add stock found in the warehouse with no location to the selected carton or pallet. Adjustment overrides the stock level rather than transferring stock
2. Transfer stock into a carton or pallet
To add stock from a picking location into a carton or pallet, follow these steps:
Click Cartons & Pallets, then click Overview.
Find the pallet or carton you want to add stock to.
Click Actions, then click Manage Inventory.
Select Transfer stock into this carton/pallet.
Select the Product.
Select the Warehouse.
Select the specific stock entry to transfer.
Enter a Comment if needed.
Click Transfer.
3. Transfer stock out of a carton or pallet
To move stock from a carton or pallet to a picking location or another carton or pallet, follow these steps:
Click Cartons & Pallets, then click Overview.
Find the pallet or carton you want to remove stock from.
Click Actions, then click Manage Inventory.
Select Transfer stock out of this carton/pallet.
Select the Destination Warehouse.
Select the Destination Location.
This can be a picking location or another carton or pallet.
Select the specific stock entry to transfer.
Enter a Comment if needed.
Click Transfer.
4. Adjust stock on a carton or pallet
To add stock found in the warehouse with no location to a carton or pallet, follow these steps:
Click Cartons & Pallets, then click Overview.
Find the pallet or carton you want to adjust stock for.
Click Actions, then click Manage Inventory.
Select Adjustment.
Select the specific stock entry to adjust.
Enter the New Quantity.
Enter a Comment if needed.
Click Adjust Stock.
Important: Adjustment overrides the stock level rather than transferring stock. Use this when adding stock found in the warehouse with no location.
5. Add stock to cartons or pallets in bulk
To upload stock to multiple cartons or pallets at once, follow these steps:
Click Cartons & Pallets, then click Extras.
Click Upload Carton/Pallet Stock, then click Download Template.
Populate the spreadsheet, then click Save.
Return to Mintsoft.
Select the Client (3PL only).
Browse for the spreadsheet.
Click Upload.
Note: If you have a pallet with cartons, only enter the carton ID, SKU and quantity. You can also upload product attributes such as best before date, batch number and serial number.
6. Transfer cartons or pallets between locations
You can move cartons between locations, reassign cartons to different pallets, and move pallets to different locations.
6.1 Transfer a carton or pallet to a new location
To move a carton or pallet to a different location, follow these steps:
Click Cartons & Pallets, then click Overview.
Find the pallet or carton you want to transfer.
Click Actions, then click Transfer.
Select the new location.
You can transfer cartons to locations or to pallets.
Complete the transfer.
Important: This action transfers any stock assigned to that carton or pallet to the new location.
6.2 Reassign a carton to a different pallet
To reassign a carton to a different pallet, follow these steps:
Click Cartons & Pallets, then click Overview.
Find the carton you want to reassign.
Click Actions, then click Transfer.
Select the destination pallet from the location options.
Complete the transfer.
Tip: When a carton is assigned to a pallet, it inherits the pallet's location. You can view all cartons in a pallet from the pallet's detail page.
6.3 Remove a carton from a pallet
To remove a carton from a pallet and move it to a standalone location, follow these steps:
Click Cartons & Pallets, then click Overview.
Find the carton currently assigned to a pallet.
Click Actions, then click Transfer.
Select a warehouse location (not a pallet) as the destination.
Complete the transfer.
7. Book inventory to cartons and pallets
You can book inventory directly to cartons and pallets using the Book Inventory function. This allows you to add or remove stock and perform inventory movements.
To book inventory to cartons or pallets, follow these steps:
Go to Warehouse, then click Book Inventory.
Select the Client (3PL only).
Select the Product.
Select the Warehouse to adjust the stock within.
Select the Location.
Cartons and pallets appear in the location list, including the code and location.
Choose the carton or pallet to add or remove stock from.
Enter the Quantity.
Add a Comment if needed.
Click the Action drop-down and select the type of movement.
Click Book Stock.
Note: Cartons and pallets appear in the location list with their code and physical location displayed.
