This guide explains how to navigate the order picking interface and use Standard Picking or Flexi Picking methods in the Access Mintsoft app. Order picking enables efficient processing of customer orders by collecting items from warehouse locations. You can start picking by either creating a Batch with an assigned picking type or by scanning individual order barcodes directly from the Order Picking screen.
Before You Begin
Before you start picking orders, ensure you have the following:
Important: To pick orders efficiently, you should first create a Batch and assign a picking type (Standard or Flexi Pick). However, you can also scan individual order barcodes directly from the Order Picking screen as an alternative method.
Prerequisites
Access to the Access Mintsoft app with appropriate picking permissions.
Understanding of what Totes are: Totes are containers or bins used to collect picked items for orders. They help organise and track items throughout the picking process.
Knowledge of Batches: A Batch is a group of orders picked together. Creating batches allows you to process multiple orders efficiently in one picking session.
Familiarity with your warehouse locations and how they're configured.
Understanding of the location verification setting and where to enable or disable it if needed (this setting determines whether you need to scan locations before scanning products).
For detailed information on configuring Batches, see the Batch Picking Configuration and Setup guide.

Understanding Order Status Flow
As you pick orders, they move through different statuses:
New: Order is ready to be picked and appears in the New tab.
Picking: Order is currently being picked (in progress).
Paused: Picking has started but been temporarily stopped. The order appears in the Paused tab.
Picked: All items have been collected and the order is ready for packing. The order appears in the Picked tab.
Packed: Order has been packed and is ready for dispatch.
Dispatched: Order has been sent to the customer.
Choosing Your Picking Method
The Access Mintsoft app offers two picking methods: Standard Picking and Flexi Picking. Choose the method that best suits your workflow.
Standard Picking
Standard Picking is best for:
Simple orders with all items in one location area.
When you want to collect all items in a single pass.
Straightforward workflows without specific requirements.
Orders that don't require interim storage or complex handling.
Flexi Picking
Flexi Picking is best for:
Orders requiring more control over the picking process.
When you need to select which products to pick in which order.
Orders that may require interim storage or complex handling.
When you need more options during the picking process, such as printing labels, changing parcels, or assigning to goods out locations.
Situations where you want to start picking before assigning a tote.
Two Ways to Start Picking
You can begin picking orders using either of these methods:
Method 1: Batch Picking (Recommended for Multiple Orders)
Create a Batch containing multiple orders.
Assign a picking type (Standard or Flexi Pick) to the batch.
Pick all orders in the batch together.
For detailed instructions, see the Batch Picking Configuration and Setup guide.
Method 2: Scan to Pick Order (For Single Orders)
Important: This is used as an alternative method instead of creating a Batch and assigning a picking type.
To scan a barcode and start picking the order without creating a batch prior:
Within the Order Picking screen, scan the order barcode.
Select either FlexiPick or Standard as the pick method.
This method allows you to complete individual orders before moving to the next one.
Standard Picking
Use Standard Picking when collecting all items for an order in a single pass.
To pick an order using Standard Picking:
Within the Access Mintsoft app, select Order Picking.
Scan the order barcode, or tap the order in the list, then select Confirm.
Scan or manually enter the Tote ID for the container you'll use to collect the items. If you don't have a tote assigned yet, scan or enter a new tote ID to assign one to this order.
Scan the Product barcode from the Location shown on screen.
Select Confirm Pick.
Repeat Steps 4-5 for additional products until all items are picked.
The order will show under the Picked tab. It's now ready for the packing process. Navigate to the Packing section to complete the order, or if another team member does pack separately, they can access it from the Picked tab.
Flexi Picking
Flexi Picking provides more flexibility in how you collect and process orders.
To pick an order using Flexi Picking:
Within the Access Mintsoft app, select Order Picking.
Scan the order barcode, or tap the order in the list, then select Confirm.
Unlike Standard Picking, Flexi Picking allows you to start picking before assigning a tote. If the order does not have a tote assigned, you can assign one later using the three-dot menu options (see Options Menu section below). If a tote is already assigned from batch configuration, you'll proceed directly to the picking screen.
Select a Product you want to pick.
Select Pick Item.
Scan the Product Barcode from the requested location.
Tip: If location verification is enabled in your warehouse settings, you'll need to scan or confirm the location first before scanning the product.
Then select Confirm Pick.
Repeat Steps 4-7 until all items have been picked.
Completing Your Order
After picking all items in an order (using either Standard or Flexi Picking), you have different options for completing the order depending on your warehouse workflow.
For Standard Picking
The order automatically moves to the Picked tab after all items are confirmed. From there, it's ready for packing.
For Flexi Picking
You have more flexibility in how you complete the order. After picking all items, you can choose from the following options based on your warehouse workflow:
Required Actions (choose one):
Mark as Picked: The order will show under the Picked tab and is ready to be packed and dispatched by another team member.
Mark as Packed: The order will show as Packed on Mintsoft and is ready for dispatch (use if you're packing it yourself).
Despatch Order: You will see a summary of the order contents and can then confirm the dispatch. Note that this will not generate the courier label automatically.
Optional Actions (can be done before or after marking as picked or packed):
Change No. of Parcels: Adjust the number of parcels on the order if required (minimum of 1 parcel). This allows you to split orders across multiple packages.
Print Courier Label: Generate the shipping label and send it to the print tool.
Print Despatch Note: Generate the Despatch Note and send it to the print tool.
Courier Service: Select or change the courier service.
Rework Items: Add rework items to the order by scanning.
Packing Instructions: View packing instructions (displayed in footer).
Options Menu
While picking an order, you can access additional actions through the options menu. The available options depend on which picking method you're using.
To access the options menu:
On the product picking screen, select the three dots icon.
Choose from the available actions (specific options depend on your picking method).
Options Available in Both Methods

Options Only in Standard Picking
Pause Pick
Select this option to pause the picking process and return to the main menu. The order will appear in the Paused tab.
Skip Product
Select this option to skip the current product and move to the next item. Once an item is skipped, you can either:
Cancel the order.
Mark the order as picked if you want to ship without the skipped items.
If you have double barcode verification enabled and all items are verified successfully during packing, the system will automatically change the order status to Picked.
Flag Location
Select this option to report an issue with the current picking location.
The system will show:
Current location (where the item is being picked from).
All other locations in the warehouse.
To flag a location:
Select the location to flag.
Choose the reason for flagging:
Missing Product.
Damaged Product.
Location Damaged.
Other (you'll need to provide a specific reason).
Once flagged, the system sends a notification to Warehouse Admins with the Location ID and the user who flagged it. The notification format is: "Location ID: 12345 (name) was flagged when picking by [username]. Please investigate."
Options Only in Flexi Picking
Assign To Goods Out Location
Select this option to assign the order to a Goods Out location for interim storage. This is useful when an order is packed and ready but waiting for courier collection.
Note: Goods Out locations must be created using a Location Type with the Goods Out toggle enabled. For more information, see the Location Types help guide.
Print Shipping Label via Print Tool
Select this option to generate and print the courier shipping label for the order. The label will be sent to your configured printer or the Print Tool.
Print Despatch Note via Print Tool

Change Number of Parcels
Select this option to modify the number of parcels for the current order.
Search For Alternate Product Locations
Select this option to find and reallocate products from alternate warehouse locations. This is useful when stock is unavailable at the assigned location. Once reallocated, the system updates the pick list order, which may change the sequence of products to pick.
To search for alternate locations:
After selecting this option, scan or select the product you want to search for.
The system displays all alternate locations containing the product, showing:
Location name.
Available quantity at each location.
Scan or select an alternate location to reallocate the product.
Warning: If the product has batch, serial, or expiry information, the system will show a warning before reallocation as the attributes may change. Review the warning and confirm to proceed with the reallocation.
Revert Order To New
Select this option to cancel the current picking session and return the order to New status.
Note: This option only appears when no items have been picked or skipped yet. Once you begin picking items, this option will no longer be available.
