Stock sync automatically updates your inventory levels between Mintsoft and your connected stores. When stock sync isn't working correctly, your inventory levels may be uncoordinated, leading to overselling or stock discrepancies.
Inventory Tracking
Some integrations require inventory tracking to be enabled at product level before stock changes can synchronise from Mintsoft.
Example
Verify your warehouse mapping and location settings
Incorrect warehouse mapping or invalid location settings can cause stock sync to fail. To check your settings:
Review your warehouse mapping configuration.
Verify the Location ID (for Shopify integrations) is correctly set against the connection.
Ensure the mapped warehouse exists and is active in Mintsoft.
Review integration permissions
Insufficient permissions on the integration setup can prevent stock sync from working. To resolve permission issues:
Access your integration settings.
Check that Read/Write permissions are selected.
Save your changes if any updates were made.
Match products and bundles correctly
Products must be properly matched between systems for stock sync to work.
To ensure correct matching:
Verify products from integrations are matched with products in Mintsoft.
Check that bundles are also correctly matched between systems.
Ensure all matched items have identical SKUs in both systems.
Understand how stock sync triggers
New products added to your store after being created in Mintsoft may have missed the initial sync.
Manual changes made directly in your store will not synchronise back to Mintsoft.
Tip: To force a sync for new products, adjust the stock level in Mintsoft by 1 unit, then adjust it back.
Verify SKU matching
Mismatched SKUs are a common cause of sync failures. To check SKU matching:
Compare the SKU in Mintsoft with the SKU in your store.
Ensure SKUs match exactly - they are case sensitive.
Check for trailing or leading spaces in the SKU field in either system.
Remove any extra spaces found.
Shopify-specific stock sync issues
For a full list of Shopify stock sync issues, see the Shopify Troubleshooting article. The most common causes specific to Shopify are:
Location ID not set: Mintsoft must have the correct Shopify Location ID configured on the connection. Click Connect then Order Integrations, select Shopify, click Get Locations, and confirm the location matches your Shopify store.
Inventory tracking not enabled: Shopify only syncs stock for products with inventory tracking turned on. Enable this in Shopify for each affected product.
Store is not live: Stock sync only works with active Shopify stores. Stores in Paused mode will not receive updates.
Shopify-Unprocessable alternative code: If a product has a Shopify-Unprocessable code in Mintsoft, stock will not sync. Click Products then Overview, click Actions then Edit, select Alternative Codes, and delete any code with this type.
Amazon-specific stock sync issues
The Amazon integration syncs stock via the MFN (Merchant Fulfilled Network) connection. If stock is not syncing to Amazon, check the following.
Stock sync is not enabled
The Sync MFN Stock Level toggle must be turned on in the Amazon connection settings.
Click Connect then Order Integrations.
Click the Premium tab then select Amazon.
Click Edit on the affected connection, then click the Amazon MFN tab.
Confirm Sync MFN Stock Level is toggled ON.
Click Update.
MFN Active toggle is off
If the MFN Active toggle is disabled, the entire Amazon connection including stock sync will not operate. Enable it in the Amazon MFN tab when you are ready to go live.
Stock syncing before Mintsoft inventory is accurate
Important: Do not enable stock sync on a new Amazon connection until your inventory records in Mintsoft are correct. Enabling it prematurely will push inaccurate stock levels to Amazon.
Incorrect stock syncing across multiple European marketplaces
Amazon shares stock for a single SKU across all European marketplaces (including the UK). If you have connections for multiple marketplaces, each will sync the same stock figure, which can cause conflicts. To manage stock per marketplace, set up alternate SKUs against ASINs in Amazon Seller Central and map them in Mintsoft using Channel Alt SKU Mapping on each connection.
Orders not importing or delayed
If orders are delayed or not importing, use the Force Order Sync button on the Amazon connection to trigger an immediate import. If delays persist, increase the MFN Frequency setting to 30 or 60 minutes.
eBay-specific stock sync issues
eBay stock sync requires listing mappings to be active. Without an active mapping between a Mintsoft SKU and an eBay listing, stock will not sync regardless of other settings.
Check the listing mapping is active
Click Connect then Order Integrations.
Click eBay and search for the connection.
Click Listing Mappings and search for the affected SKU.
Click Edit on the mapping and confirm the Active toggle is turned ON.
If no mapping exists, you need to create one linking the Mintsoft SKU to the eBay listing. Ensure eBay custom labels (SKUs) are populated on the eBay listing side.
Sync Stock toggle is off
Confirm the Sync Stock toggle is enabled on the eBay connection in Mintsoft.
eBay listing is not active
Mintsoft will only sync stock to active eBay listings. If a listing has ended or is in draft, stock updates will not be sent. Reactivate the listing in eBay, then confirm the mapping is active in Mintsoft.
Improve sync performance
If stock sync is slow or inconsistent, enable Import Listings / Sync Stock Overnight on the eBay connection. This processes listing mappings and syncs stock in a nightly batch, which is more reliable for large catalogues.
eBay token has expired
If the eBay authorisation token has expired, stock sync and order import will both fail. The connect errors log will show: 'Order Import Error: Authorisation token is hard expired.' Reauthorise the connection using the eBay Integration article.
