Configure audio feedback and voice guidance features in the Access Mintsoft app.

The Access Mintsoft app includes audio settings that enhance your workflow through sound feedback and voice guidance. You can enable text to speech to hear instructions during operations and configure chimes to provide immediate audio confirmation of successful or failed scans.


Audio settings

Audio settings control sound feedback and voice features that help you stay informed without constantly looking at your screen.

Accessing audio settings

  1. Tap the menu icon in the top left corner.

  2. Select Audio Settings.


Text to speech

Text to speech enables the app to read aloud essential information and confirmations, allowing you to work hands-free. The app speaks quantities, product names, locations, and other key details during picking and inventory operations.

What text to speech reads aloud

The feature provides audio guidance for tasks including:

  • Scanning a location or product.

  • Scanning an order or batch.

  • Scanning an ASN.

  • Scanning a carton or pallet.

Enabling or disabling text to speech

  1. In Audio Settings, toggle Text to Speech on or off.

Benefits of text to speech

  • Work without constantly looking at your device screen.

  • Receive verbal confirmations of successful scans.

  • Improve efficiency during picking operations.

  • Reduce errors by hearing what you've scanned.

Note: Ensure your device volume is turned up and not muted for this feature to work.

Changing text to speech language settings

You can customise the language, speech rate, and pitch of the text to speech function.

  1. Select Settings.

  2. Select Accessibility then Text-to-speech output.

  3. Tap Language to select your preferred language, then adjust Speech rate and Pitch by moving the slider to the left or right.

For example, you can change the speech voice (Language) from English UK to English US.


Scan success chime

The scan success chime plays a pleasant sound when a barcode scan is successful. This audio feedback confirms that your scan was registered without requiring you to look at the screen.

Configuring scan success chime

  1. In Audio Settings, toggle Scan success chime on or off.

When to use scan success chime

  • On – For immediate audio confirmation of successful scans (recommended).

  • Off – If working in a quiet environment where sounds might be disruptive.


Scan fail chime

The scan fail chime plays a distinctive sound when a barcode scan fails or is invalid. This alerts you immediately to scanning problems so you can take corrective action.

Configuring scan fail chime

  1. In Audio Settings, toggle Scan fail chime on or off.

When to use scan fail chime

  • On – To be alerted immediately to scanning problems (recommended).

  • Off – If you prefer to rely solely on visual feedback.

Tip: Using both success and fail chimes together provides the clearest audio feedback during high-volume scanning operations.
