If you ship full cartons for your customers, you can set up Mintsoft to charge by carton instead of by individual unit. For example, if you ship one carton of 50 units, Mintsoft charges one carton pick instead of 50 unit picks. This can also help customers who want to streamline their scanning process.
The setup has two parts: the client's picking costs, then the product details.
Enable carton charging
To enable picking by carton rather than by unit:
Click Clients, then click Overview.
Find the client.
Click Actions, then click Edit.
Click the Picking Cost tab, then turn on the carton picking cost toggle.
Beneath the toggle, set the carton pick rate you want to charge for each carton. You can set the same amount for the first and additional cartons, or set different amounts.
You can also override these values for individual products, for example if some cartons are much bigger or smaller than others. The steps are in the Override carton pricing for individual products section below.
Pick charge when an order contains cartons and units
If an order contains a quantity of a product that does not equal a carton size, Mintsoft charges the difference as a unit pick fee.
For example, if the carton size is 10 but the order ships 11 units, Mintsoft charges one carton pick fee, using the Standard First Carton Picking Cost, and one unit pick fee, using the Standard First Item Picking Cost.
Effects of removing carton costs
When you remove carton costs, Mintsoft changes how it calculates picking costs:
Mintsoft charges picking costs for each individual item within the carton, rather than treating the carton as a single unit.
Invoicing returns to the standard picking calculation, and total costs are based on the picking costs assigned to each item.
Override carton pricing for individual products
You can set a carton picking cost for each product, which overrides the client's default carton pricing:
Click Products, then click Overview.
Find the product.
Click Actions, then click Edit.
Click the Picking/ Storage Cost tab.
Set your required carton pick rates for the product.
Click Save.
Repeat for additional products.
đNote: After making changes to carton pricing, review and confirm any invoice adjustments to finalise these changes. Changing carton settings may affect client invoicing.
Creating Product Cartons
Once you have set up costs, the next step is to setup Product Cartons.
