Batch picking (also known as pick-waves) is the most efficient way to print, pick and despatch large volumes of orders in Mintsoft. You can filter and sort orders in NEW status by courier, channel or product, print courier labels in bulk, change courier service and despatch orders instantly with minimal interaction.
Create a batch
You can create a batch from the Picking & Packing menu or from the Orders Overview screen.
Create a batch from Picking & Packing
Click Picking & Packing then Manage Batches.
Next, click Create New Batch.
Set the filters to your requirements -

Courier or Courier Service: You can only select one of the two.
Courier Service Type: Select the courier service type applied to the orders (normally Standard).
Channel: Choose the order channel.
Exclude Tags: Orders containing excluded tags won't be batched. This is an AND condition, which means orders must not contain any of the excluded tags.
Include Tags: Orders containing included tags will be batched. This is an AND condition, which means orders must contain all specified tags.
Country or Country Zone (Shipping Zone): You can only select one of the two.
Despatch Date and Delivery Date: Set the dates.
Single Line Order Only or Multi Line Order Only: You can only select one of the two.

Order Includes Product: Select specific products the orders must contain. When this field contains multiple products, orders must contain at least one of the specified products to match the filter. This is an OR condition, not AND.

Exclude Orders Containing Products: If an order contains an excluded product, it won't be batched. If an order contains any product listed, it's excluded from the batch. This means if you specify products A, B, C to exclude, an order containing any of them is filtered out.
Max Batch Size: Set the maximum number of orders to batch (default is 200).
Order Number Contains: Enter an order prefix or numbers. You can only specify one prefix or number pattern per template.
No Despatch Note - Single Line Only: Select this for single line orders without despatch notes.
Orders with Cartons/Pallets stock: Select this to include orders with cartons or pallets stock.
Use Tote Capacity Method: Enable tote capacity method set on products for picking. When the tote is at capacity, you'll be required to use another tote. Ensure you set the Tote Capacity value on individual products through product edit or CSV import.
Number Of Totes (Bulk To Tote Picking): Specify the number of totes for bulk picking.
Reference: Add a reference identifier for the batch.

You'll be brought to a Manage Batch screen. Orders are still in NEW status until you select one of the print or despatch options.
Print batch documents
Click Print Batch to print despatch notes for the orders including a summary pick list.
Click the dropdown arrow next to Print Batch to select a different print type. For more information about print types, see the 'Different print batch types' section below.
Generate courier labels
Click Generate Courier Labels to obtain shipping labels in bulk.
A percentage status bar appears. If it doesn't reach 100%, errors will appear.
Despatch batch
Click Despatch Batch to mark all orders contained in the batch as despatched.
Create a batch from Orders Overview
Click Orders then click Overview.
Tick the orders you wish to include in the batch.
Click Bulk Actions then click Create Batch.
Give the batch a reference then press GO.
You'll get a notification at the top of the screen to confirm you've created the batch.
Once you've created a batch, you can assign picking types to be used and who to assign the batch to on the mobile app.
Mobile vs NonMobile picking
There are two forms of picking types for batches:
NonMobile Picking: This is the standard picking type.
Mobile Picking: This includes all other picking types.
Bulk Actions tab
The Bulk Actions tab on the Manage Batch screen allows you to change the courier service for all orders in the batch and print order documents.
Important: Warehouse users must have the AdminEditOrder permission to change the courier service for batches in bulk.
Mobile tab
You can assign a user, picking type and picking priority for the mobile app.
Note: If a batch isn't visible on the mobile app, ensure that it's created using the Bulk or BulkPaperless methods and check that a mobile picking type is assigned.
Additionally, assigning a mobile user can improve visibility.
Assign mobile settings
Within the Manage Batch screen, click the Mobile tab.
Assign a user, picking type and picking priority.
Click Assign.
By following these steps, you can address batch visibility issues to ensure smooth operations within the Mintsoft mobile app.
If the batch remains invisible, revisit the Mobile tab, make edits such as reassigning a user or modifying the batch fields, and then save the changes. This prompts the system to update and make the batch visible.
Different print batch types
Within the Manage Batch screen, you can click the dropdown arrow next to Print Batch to show different print types you can use:
Print Batch with Integrated Label: This requires you to generate the courier labels first. This option will produce a courier label on the despatch note itself.
Print Batch with PDF Courier Label: This requires you to generate the courier labels first. This generally only works well with a 6x4" despatch note template so that both the despatch note and label can be printed on the same printer.
Print Batch Picking Summary: This will print just the picking summary list.
Print Batch Order Summary: This will print a summary of the orders in the batch.
Print Grouped Picking Summary: This will print a picking summary list split by order.
Print Grouped Picking Summary - Order By OrderNumber: This will print a picking summary list sorted by lowest to highest order number.
Delete a batch
You can only delete a batch before you click Print Batch. Once clicked, you can't delete the batch.
Click Picking & Packing then click Manage Batches.
Find the batch you wish to delete.
Click Actions then click Delete.
Note: Deleting a batch won't delete the orders attached. It will only remove the grouping of the orders, allowing them to be grouped again in a different batch.
Set up Batch Preview
Batch Preview allows you to check the batch contents before you confirm, which is useful for error checking.
Click Settings then click User settings.
Click the Picking Defaults tab.
Turn on Enable Batch Preview Before Creation.
Click Save.
If you have preview enabled, a screen will appear showing batch contents where you can give the batch a reference and then click Create.
When you have Preview enabled, a screen appears showing batch contents where you can give the batch a reference before clicking Create.
