Custom UDF Fields

Custom UDF fields (User Defined Fields) are 10 flexible fields (UDF1–UDF10) that lets you store additional information for products in Mintsoft.

These fields are fully configurable, so you can use them to capture any extra details your business needs that aren’t included in the standard product fields. Since every client tracks different types of product information, UDF fields provide a simple way to store that extra data.


Set Up UDF Fields

To set up UDF fields please do the following:

  1. Go to Products, Extras.

  2. Then select Product Custom Fields.

  3. Add New Custom Field Definition.

  4. Enter the Client.

  5. Select which UDF you want in Custom Field.

  6. Then Enter the Name, for example Colour.

  7. Click Add.


Assign UDF Values to Products

Once the UDF fields are setup, you then need to assign them to products. To do this please complete the following:

  1. Go to Products, Overview.

  2. Find the product you want to add the UDF field too.

  3. Click Actions, Edit.

  4. Navigate to the Custom Fields tab.

  5. Select your Custom Field.

  6. Then enter a Value.

  7. Finally, click Add.


Upload UDF Values to Products

UDF values can be added to products in bulk via a CSV, to do this please do the following:

  1. Go to Products, Extras.

  2. Upload Addiotional Info.

  3. Download the template ProductCustomFields.

  4. Populate the template.

  5. Then Upload the file, ensure you select ProductCustomFields as the Type.
