Managing stock allocation effectively is critical to processing orders in Mintsoft. Occasionally, users may encounter scenarios where stock appears available but cannot allocate to an order, leading to backorders or incomplete processing. Stock allocation in Mintsoft depends on the availability and proper classification of inventory in the system. A key distinction is made between OnHand stock, which is immediately available for allocation, and OffHand stock, which is not. OffHand stock cannot be utilized until it is reassigned as OnHand for the relevant warehouse and location. If you encounter a stock allocation problem, follow these steps to resolve it:
Verify Stock Levels: Check the SKUβs inventory to ensure there is enough quantity to fulfill the order. Pay special attention to whether the stock is categorized as OnHand or OffHand.
Reassign OffHand Stock: If stock is categorized as OffHand, move it to OnHand for the correct warehouse and location.
Reprocess the Order: After ensuring sufficient OnHand stock is available for all SKUs, reprocess the order in Mintsoft. The system will allocate stock if quantities are adequate.
Address Backordered Items: For orders placed as direct backorders, wait until sufficient stock becomes available for all required SKUs. Then, reprocess the backorder. By understanding and managing OnHand versus OffHand stock classifications, checking SKUs for adequate inventory, and addressing backorder statuses, you can resolve allocation issues and minimize disruptions during order processing.
