How the system picks a rule

When an operator scans a product during putaway on the mobile app, the system finds the first matching rule in this order.

  • Client-specific rules beat all-clients rules

  • Rules with product criteria (categories or conditions) beat catch-all rules

  • Then by Priority (lowest first)

  • Then by oldest rule (ID)

Processing On the App

To process ASN's with Directed Putaway please do the following:

  1. Create an ASN.

  2. Navigate onto the mobile app.

  3. Go to ASN's.

  4. Find the ASN to book in, and select it.

  5. It then gives you the following options:

  6. You can select either Receive to Storage Location, or Receive to Carton/ Pallet. If you did Receive to Goods In Location and do the putaway task later, it should prompt the directed locations then.

  7. When you select/ scan an item, it will advise if Putaway rules are active:

  8. Once the quantity is confirmed, it then moves onto selecting the location. Where it directs you to locations which match your rule:

  9. Once the location is confirmed, it books the unit into that location.

  10. Repeat the above steps for all SKU's on the ASN.

Override

You can override locations, so if there are none available or you simply want to put it somewhere else you can scan another one, click override and add a comment. The comment gets shown in the product's movement history.
