Overview

This guide explains how to configure multiple courier sub-accounts in Mintsoft. Understanding sub-account configuration is essential when your business uses multiple accounts with the same courier provider. Many courier providers allow businesses to create multiple sub-accounts under a single master account. In Mintsoft, each courier sub-account requires its own separate integration configuration.

Important: You cannot use a single integration to manage multiple courier sub-accounts. Each sub-account must be configured independently.

(3PL Only) Client name on courier label

Courier Sub-Accounts can be used to display the name of the Client on the courier label instead of you.

Example

  • 3PL: Mintsoft Fulfilment.

  • Client: Mint Clothing.

With a Courier Sub-Account, the name on the courier label would be Mint Clothing.

Note: If the courier you need the sub account for is Royal Mail, please follow our Royal Mail Integration help guide.

Why each sub-account needs separate integration

Each courier sub-account typically has unique credentials and identifiers provided by the carrier:

  • Account Number or ID - Unique identifier for billing and shipment tracking.

  • Username - Authentication credential specific to the sub-account.

  • Password - Authentication credential specific to the sub-account.

  • Additional Tokens - API keys, authorisation tokens, or other carrier-specific credentials.

These credentials are tied to the specific sub-account and cannot be shared across different sub-accounts.

How Mintsoft matches courier accounts

When creating a shipment, Mintsoft searches for the appropriate courier integration using a hierarchy based on Client and Warehouse.

Search Priority (from most specific to least specific):

  • Specific Client and Specific Warehouse - Exact match for both.

  • All Clients and Specific Warehouse - Any client using this warehouse.

  • Specific Client and All Warehouses - This client across any warehouse.

  • All Clients and All Warehouses - Fallback for any client or warehouse combination.

This hierarchy allows flexible assignment of courier sub-accounts to various parts of your operation.

Configuring multiple sub-accounts

Step 1: Obtain Credentials from Your Courier

  • Contact your courier provider to obtain API credentials for each sub-account.

  • Ensure you receive all required authentication details for each sub-account.

  • Verify which credentials are for test environment versus production environment.

Step 2: Create Separate Integration for Each Sub-Account

  • Navigate to the courier integration settings in Mintsoft.

  • Create a new integration configuration for each sub-account.

  • Enter the unique credentials for each sub-account.

  • Assign each integration to the appropriate Client and Warehouse combination.

Step 3: Assign to Client and Warehouse Combinations

Configure each sub-account to match your business structure.

Example Scenario:

  • Sub-Account A assigned to Client 1, Warehouse 1: Enter Sub-Account A credentials.

  • Sub-Account B assigned to Client 2, Warehouse 1: Enter Sub-Account B credentials.

  • Sub-Account C assigned to Client 3, Warehouse 2: Enter Sub-Account C credentials.

This ensures orders for each client automatically use the correct courier sub-account based on the matching rules.

Common configuration errors

Error: Authentication failures or "Invalid credentials"

  • Cause: Test Mode setting does not match credential type.

  • Solution: Verify credentials are for the correct environment (test versus production).

Error: "Account not found" or billing errors

  • Cause: Account number or ID field does not match the credentials provided.

  • Solution: Confirm the account identifier matches the sub-account for the given credentials.

Error: Shipment created for wrong account

  • Cause: Client or Warehouse assignment overlap or incorrect fallback matching.

  • Solution: Review integration assignments to ensure proper Client and Warehouse specificity.

Critical points to remember

Sub-Account Isolation

Each sub-account operates independently. Credentials from Sub-Account A will not work when trying to create shipments for Sub-Account B, even if they are under the same master courier account.
