This article answers the most frequently asked questions about Order Rules in Mintsoft, including troubleshooting tips, rule management, and how Order Rules interact with your orders.

My order rule isn't triggering, what can I check?

If an order rule isn't triggering when it should, there are several areas to check:

Check the Condition Type:

  • If it's set to AND, this means all conditions must be met to trigger.

  • If it's set to OR, this means only one condition must be met to trigger.

Check the Condition Operator:

  • Some condition fields only work with specific condition operators.

Check for spelling and spaces:

  • Ensure the value has been spelt correctly.

  • Check for any leading or trailing spaces.

Tip: Create rules in Inactive state to test them before going live. You can also manually trigger rules on test orders to verify they work as expected.

How do I see which rules ran on an order?

Check the order comments. The system automatically logs all rule executions, including:

  • Which rule ran.

  • What action was performed.

  • What changed.

  • When and by whom.

Managing Order Rules

Can we edit Order Rules?

To edit or update an order rule:

  1. Click Settings then Order Rules.

  2. Click Edit against the rule you want to manage.

  3. Make any relevant changes.

  4. Click Update to save changes.

Can we delete Order Rules?

To delete an order rule:

  1. Click Settings then Order Rules.

  2. Click Delete against the rule you want to remove.

  3. Click OK.

Can we manually trigger Order Rules to run?

Yes. To manually trigger Order Rules to run:

  1. Click Orders then Overview.

  2. Tick the order(s) you want the Order Rules to run for.

  3. Select Run Order Rules from the Bulk Actions drop-down.

  4. Click Go.

Tip: These steps can be useful for orders that need Order Rules re-triggering (for example, after a change has been made to the rule).

When do Order Rules run?

Order Rules run automatically for orders in a NEW status. Order Rules will automatically run for:

  • Orders manually created in Mintsoft.

  • Orders externally imported (Shopify, eBay, Amazon, etc.) into Mintsoft.

What does Overwrite Existing mean when viewing Order Rules?

The Overwrite Existing column is used if two identical order rules are found (Conditions and Actions are the same) the system will only run the most recently created order rule and ignore the other order rule.

Do Order Rules work with Bundles?

No, bundles wont work with Order Rules, the order rule must contain the components of the bundle instead of the overall bundle itself.

Can multiple rules execute on one order?

Yes, all matching rules at each priority level will execute in order.

What happens if conditions conflict?

Rules execute by priority. Higher priority rules run first. The "Overwrite Existing" setting controls whether later rules can change values set by earlier rules.
